Chinook Feeders is a large custom finished lot located 25 km NE of Nanton.  Chinook has a one time pen capacity of 18,000 head with expansion to 30,000 in progress.  Most of the cattle at Chinook are on a finishing program but a program can be customized to fit the customer’s needs.  Management also offers a preferred marketing plan to any of their customers who are finishing cattle.  The feedlot is fully automated and data is available throughout all phases of the feeding program.

The company is proud of its wetlands, which is a partnership project that takes feedlot runoff water and filters it naturally to produce a usable clean water commodity.

Chinook operates with an office staff that includes one business manager, a feedlot manager, comptroller, inventory manager and assistant and one animal health supervisor.  The working feedlot consists of four feed truck drivers, one full time maintenance manager, three maintenance techs, two heard health foremen, seven junior herd health techs, four processing technicians, and one grain mill manager plus an assistant grain tech.
